Mariska Hargitay Becomes Olivia Benson

Mariska Hargitay, star of Law and Order, takes her sexual assault job on television to her real life. In 2002, Mariska started a foundation, The Joyful Heart Foundation, to help the victims of sexual assault “heal their minds, body and spirits and reclaim their lives.” Mariska started getting concerned about the issue after the enormous amount of emails she received while doing the show from women and girls who had been victims of sexual assault. Hearing these women’s voices, she decided to take action and make a difference. She first started by studying the subject and becoming a crisis counselor. Mariska, then, started the Joyful Heart Foundation. The Joyful Heart Foundation works to help women heal in many different ways by offering retreats. “The goal of Joyful Heart is to let the light, and the life, back in–to banish the darkness and let the healing begin.” Mariska says. Mariska has also started a line of tee shirts to raise money and awareness for the foundation. To show our support in what Mariska is doing, Serendipity is now selling her tee shirts.

Tie-Dye is Back!

For those of you waiting for the day when the bright swirls of colors items come back, there’s no more waiting for you, it’s officially making it’s way into the fashion magazines and onto to the streets. However, as Tie-Dye comes back into the scene, it comes back with a new twist. No more rainbow colored tees, it is now on polos, cardigans and more. Even if you were waiting for the rainbow patterns, you wont be disappointed. The designers are making it fashionable while still hanging onto the roots of the craze. It makes its way onto Vogue’s “Need It Now” list with a Tory Burch Dabney Cardigan.

Michael Kor’s has also decided to take on the trend by spicing up an ordinary polo with the technique.
